Her recent PhD problematizes ideas about the novel as a conduit of empathy and a defender of human rights in light of the economic aims of the literary marketplace. She is an alumna of the University of Cambridge and Barnard College, Columbia University, where she studied English, Economics and Writing. Her fiction, humor writing and essays have appeared in various places including\u00a0<em>The New Yorker<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Atlantic<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Catapult<\/em>. She was a writer-in-residence at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, New York in Fall 2019.
